In my previous Chai Musings 01, I discussed how healthtech companies needed to their company to do 2 things to become successful. One was excellence in safety, the other was excellence in quality. In this short post I’ll define this for quality.
Quality is a very broad term, but I would define it as effectiveness. Does the innovation do what its supposed to do to the highest standard. This differs between innovations, but understanding the metrics which accurately captures excellence and benchmarking this is key to driving efficiency, and quality.
Examples of quality metrics are:
Ratio (or percentage) of prescription errors
Time taken to get a medicine to a patient after diagnosis
Cost of intervention per patient
